Triathlete Magazine...That's Our Goal :)

When my client and I first met to do the session for her portfolio, I was nearly insistent that we do another session to include shots in her wetsuit...I am glad we did!!!  Part Deux of the swim, bike, run session.

For The Love Of Swim, Bike, Run!

My recent client and I have a couple things in common, a love for triathlons and Colorado!  My triathlons have been placed on hold due to several moves and starting my business over again after moving back to South Carolina.  I still train and am looking to get back into triathlons this summer.  Miss "T" just moved here from Boulder, Colorado and is working towards being a pro triathlete, so in order to get her website going she needed images of her doing what she loves.  I wanted to share a few and will add more when we do shots in her wetsuit, which will be a blast because I have so many ideas!

2007-2008 Woods-Lindley Prize

I am SO proud of my little sister tonight!  She is going through graduation ceremonies in Chicago to receive her second Master's degree and completed her time as a student teacher.  Sarah received some amazing news...she was selected as the winner of the 2007-2008 Woods-Lindley Prize for excellence in student teaching and mentorship!!!  The give one out a year and she got it!  Way to go Sarah!!!  The Woods-Lindley Prize is selected by the University of Illinois Chicago English Education Program.  Here is a photo of her at the awards banquet with the Associate Professor/Director of English Teacher Education at UIC.

Are Your Kids Getting Ready For PACT testing?

If so, then there is an amazing website that offers practice testing that is really great!  The joining fee is $49 but SO worth it!!!  The website is Study Island and you can select your state to make sure that the testing questions are tailored to suit your area.  Here is their website.  You can select the amount of questions for each lesson which is nice!  I just wanted to share this great study tool.

Have a great day;)

Costco Car Show & Children's Miracle Network

The Costco on Woodruff Road in Greenville, SC had their first car show last Sunday for people to showcase their passion and to benefit the Children's Miracle Network.  I was asked to cover the event for them and I was more than happy.  The weather was a bit of a worry but everyone proceeded forward as planned.  Just as people were showing and placing their cars in position and wiping them down, the sky opened up and rain started to fall.  Well I must say that it was an experience we will not soon forget!!!  The rain got VERY heavy, the wind was intense and then a few lightning strikes were MUCH closer than I would have liked!  So we were all huddling under the tents protecting our materials and gear and as the wind got crazy we all were holding the tents so that they wouldn't blow away and then one super close lighting crack and we all just decided it best to let go :)  Nothing like holding onto metal near lighting right?  Just when we thought the lighting was over...down came the HAIL of all things!  Needless to say the car show didn't take off like planned due to the fact that Mother Nature had other plans for the day, but we all had such a blast and I wanted to share a few images of the day.

A Beautiful Little Girl Full Of Personality ~

A beautiful little girl, a gorgeous location and some 'play time' made for some great images!  We walked down paths, up hills and along the water for a good long while and had so much fun.  I wanted to share a few of my favorites.  This first one would be stunning on a big canvas;)

Carolina Bella Guest Post

I was honored to be a guest on the blog for Carolina Bella.  It was fun to share a little about my business as well as giving some general tips on taking better everyday family photos.  Amy McWatty's blog has really grown from the initial post and I am certain it will continue.  Congratulations Amy on a blog well done!

Cycling & Chocolate Metromint

Today was a really good day, I got back on the bike again for the first time in a good long while.  I have still been running and strength training, but no cycling.  After two big moves in 13 months the bike was simply put on the back burner and collected a little dust.  Well no longer!  I rode today and while I didn't quite feel like I could climb any mountain, I did LOVE taking in all the sights and enjoying some time for quiet thoughts.  As I rode through gorgeous countryside, I kept making mental notes of great photo session locations!  What made the ride even better??? NO DOGS running at warp speed towards me!  For anyone that has been with me on rides knows that I freak out when I get chased while on the bike...it's almost comical to anyone but ME:)
Another reason why today was great...Metromint has come out with a new flavor..Chocolate Mint!!!!  I couldn't wait to give it a try and I simply love it!
Metromintchocolate   My two favorite flavors together in a sugar and preservative-free water.  My all time favorite is the good ol' Peppermint.
Peppermint   I wish this stuff wasn't SO good!

Have a great night and thanks for stopping by.

I am finally getting caught up after several sessions in a row and the Southern Kids Fest weekend.  I wanted to make sure that I got the images to Upstate Parent Magazine in time for a thank you ad they were running, but I also wanted to share a few here as well.  I know I have said this before, but it was a super fun weekend!
